Winelands October Escape 28-30 October
September 22, 2021
This year we have planned a road bike trip. A lap of the Winelands of the Western Cape.

October Escape - Road Bike Trip - 28 - 30 October

Over the past years the October Escape has been an annual ride, mostly the group has done the pilgrimage down to the Amashova race in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

This year we have planned a trip to explore and enjoy the valleys and Winelands of the Western Cape! Beggining from the shores of Cape Town, beneath Table Mountain, we will ride across to the Swartland and on to the valley of Tulbagh.

Nipping across the Slanghoek Road towards the wine farms of the Nuy Valley, we will have a chance to scour a Worcester Hill or two on the second day.

The queen stage of the trip will take us over the Franschoek Mountains, climbing the famous Franschoek Pass. With an opportunity to taste some of the fruits of the vine of the French corner..

This is a small group, supported road bike trip.

Day 1 (28 Oct) - Cape Town  - Tulbagh  - 150km aprox.
Day 2 (29 Oct) - Tulbagh - Nuy Valley - 120km aprox.
Day 3 (30 Oct) - Nuy Valley - Franschoek/Stellenbosch - 120km aprox.

Accommodation for 2 nights,  following vehicle with support staff. Trip based on 12 riders.
